29TH NCVP conference at Jabalpur veterinary college

25th Feb2020

After about 22 years , Jabalpur Veterinary college has again become a venue for hosting 29th National congress of Veterinary Parasitology and a national symposium. It was in 1994, that the Department of Parasitology, arranged a national congress and then after four years, it arranged another conference in 1998. Afterwards , there was a great gap with many changes occurring in the ensuing period. On university side, this oldest college (established on 8th July1948) which was earlier under the Agricultural University (Jawaharlal Nehru Krishi Vishwa Vidyalaya,Adhartal,Jabalpur),became a constituent college with formation of Madhya Pradesh Pashu Chikitsa University in 2009 ,which was rechristened as Nanaji Deshmukh University of Veterinary Science. On department side, many persons retired from the post and some of them are deceased. The very important name came to my mind is of Dr H.L.Shah who has been doyen in this field. This department also lost first Dr R.K.Chodhary in April ,2006 and then Dr R.K.Sharma.We have also lost Dr SC Joshi of this department. The department attains many laurels during this period -important one was award of Emeritus Scientist to Dr M.C.Agrawal which became first in the Faculty after 10 years. Dr M.C.Agrawal  who retired as Dean of Veterinary College in 2005, became Board Member of the newly formed  Chattisgarh Kamdhenu Veterinary University,Durg for four years. In this ensuing period, direction of research Also changed and some important books in Parasitology were published by the retired faculty members.
I am herewith loading some photographs of the conference which have been taken from my mobile.
